Markets have a vital role to play in decarbonising Europe.

The EU ETS is a market based trading system which puts a price on carbon to encourage efficient decarbonisation. We focus on the design of the EU ETS and related policies, such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, as well as national emissions trading systems.

Energy attribute certificates or guarantees of origin, which show where, when and with with fuel, energy produced have a role to play in building trust and allowing customers to make informed decisions.  We focus on how to create these systems across Europe.
