Response to the proposed reintroduction of exchange trading obligations under the revision of the Energy Law Act in Poland

Energy Traders Europe welcome the opportunity to comment on the proposed initiatives to foster liquidity on the Polish electricity and gas markets. As a general rule our association does not support mandatory trading at specific venues, as such requirements are restrictive and might reduce market efficiency. However, considering the high market concentration and limited transparency in the Polish electricity and gas markets, we recognise that some form of intervention may be justified to create an opportunities to enter the market and compete over supplies to end customers.
